new template testing…

Just testing out my new template… at the moment it’s only been tested in Opera (don’t ask…) so it might (and probably will) look horrible in real browsers…

geektastic

Edinburgh was cool, the IOP lecture was Chaos and Crochet, you can find out more at Bernd Krauskopf and Hinke Osinga’s homepages. The talk mainly centred around how to represent complicated mathematical objects (specifically the Lorenz attractor) in a way which is easy to grasp (specifically computer models and crochet). Now I’m at home but heading to London tomorrow, which reminds me I must pack… so I’ll leave you with some links…

Improve Mac OS X performance and the absolutely geektastic Star Trek : The Next Generation wikipedia page (check out the trivia!)

finally finished!

Well, I have finally finished my exams! Yay! Well, kind of yay… I think I have not done very well in linear or stochastic but algebra and analysis this morning was okay. Hrmmm… so now I am going to go and kill some time on Lucy’s GameCube until I go to Edinburgh tomorrow for ann IOP lecture, then home!

here goes something

Right, well… it is the end off 2005 (or rather it was). In the time since I last blogged I think I’ve probably done a fairly large amount of stuff (including, but not strictly limited to, Winter Wonderland). I’ve had quite a good time and I would love to sit and do one of those “my 2005…” LiveJournal memes that everyone is doing. Unfortunately I don’t have time so I shall just have to offer up some linkage…

Firstly, how to record FLV video (from say, Google Video or YouTube), Coldplay’s new CD sucks, an explaination of FireFox keywords, some cool, free Mac applications and finally experimental maths.
