Treo applications and LATEXSo I spent the afternoon LATEXing my notes from quantum mechanics which was fun. The maths lab now has TeXnic Centre installed which is quite a nifty editor. Also, some Treo applications I’ve downloaded so far (but not tested yet): LaFac (a programming environment for micro C, Pascal, BASIC), OpenChess, pssh an SSH client and QuickNews an RSS reader. |
links and new phoneI got my Treo 650 this morning. Just checking it out at the moment. I’ll blog properly at some point. Now… some links IBM introduction to R, independently parsing Perl, Meta programming and how to take a caffeine nap. |
popcornWell, I’m now doing Physics 2B, which is pretty awesome since I had my first quantum mechanics lecture with Dr Wan who is awesome. I’m also doing Discrete maths which is pretty cool too. On top of all of that there is a CREEM seminar tomorrow! Links: computer generated water, the latest episode of the IT Crowd and bloody computer scientists. |
fortuneMy Brady's First Law of Problem Solving: When confronted by a difficult problem, you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question, "How would the Lone Ranger have handled this?" Highly appropriate, no? |
the joy of IMAPI’ve just switched to reading my university mail with IMAP in Thunderbird which is very cool. If you missed it on TV (as I did) check out The IT Crowd which is Channel 4’s new sitcom. It’s a nice change from the shock-value, let’s be nasty comedy of Little Britain et al. Exam results tonight, arghhh! |
